Professor Flitwick sat on his pile of books on top of his desk and waited for the students to arrive. He decided to give them a brief summary of what Charms would be about. Even though most students were from magical families, some students had muggle parents and wouldn't know many things about magic at all.

Theo headed into the Charms classroom, his usual bored expression was well apparent. He had wanted to go to Durmstrang, but his father insisted that he attend Hogwarts. He'd wanted Theo to follow in his footsteps, something that Theo wasn't sure he wanted to do. He wasn't power hungry and would much rather be left alone than anything else. He headed towards the middle of the classroom, it would be much easier to simply blend in and sort of disappear there. He was by no means stupid and was quite eager to learn, it was people that were the problem. Everyone wanted to latch onto the powerful to gain an advantage, he had no need for such things, his ambition was far higher than that.

Millicent shuffled into the Charms classroom and seated herself at the back of the room. She looked at the letter in her hand with a slight frown before she placed it into her bag. Her mother had already written to her asking for gossip, a subject that Millicent had never been fond of and was often excluded from. She would dutifully write home to her mother, but she planned on using any information of real value to her own advantage. Anne Bulstrode's smothering maternal instinct was displayed at the worst of times. Often her idea of being motherly involved diets, and girl time that was neither needed nor wanted.
Charms class reminded her of the simple household charms her mother insisted on showing her the summer before she started Hogwarts. She hadn’t practiced the charms due to the restriction of underage magic, but she had memorized the easier wand movements in the hope that she would be able to work her way up into the more difficult levels of charm work independently. In class she could play the part of the dimwitted bulky shadow, but in the privacy of her dormitory she knew what she was doing.

Irvana had surprisingly found her way to the Charms classroom with ease. This made her a lot less tense that usual, but she still had her normal posture. Her arms stayed down at her sides motionless. She stared at the floor as she walked. She glanced around the classroom and saw a empty area in the middle of the classroom. She sighed to herself and rushed to the seat with her brown eyes piercing the floor. She didn't want to be around people. Why couldn't she have just stayed with her parents forever?
Irvana bit furiously at her lower lip as she waited for instructions. She could barely wait for class to end. She wanted to be alone as always. Why couldn't she just be alone. Irvana pulled her wand from her bag, and she began casting random charms she had been practicing on when she hid outside away from the common room full of students.

Draco finally walked in, he decided he should not be late this time. Like it really makes a difference though, Draco still hated this useless class. There's nothing he wanted to learn in here, Potions is probably the only class he's willing to pay attention to. Plus, he hated the teacher too. Piratically an elf... He thought as he glared at the professor. Draco just couldn't believe that Dumbledore would hire someone like this. Father have to hear about this...
Looking around he saw that there weren't many people. so he took a seat in the back as usual and waited for more people to come. He leaned back on his chair and hoped today would end soon, because he could sense it wouldn't be a good one.

Angela stepped hesitantly into the charms classroom, looking around at the other students there. There weren't too many others yet, but she still felt too shy to go up and greet anyone. From force of habit, she headed for the back of the classroom, but paused when she saw that someone was already sitting there. Two people in fact. They didn't exactly look friendly to her, so instead she chose a desk off to the side in the middle of the room. There were a couple of people in the middle too, but she figured that they wouldn't notice her if she sat off to the side.
Being a Ravenclaw, many people would probably assume that she'd want to sit in the front and answer every question, but that wasn't the case. She was terrified of having all of the attention on her, and she didn't want the teacher to notice her either. She was just scared that if they noticed her, they would all start to judge her and laugh at her. Keeping her eyes down, she pulled out a quill, some parchment, ink, and her textbook and set them down on the desk. Hopefully, if she could stay quiet and unnoticed, the class would be over quickly.

Hermione rushed in, excited for her first real Hogwarts class. She was more than ready to impress the teacher and share her knowledge of the subject of charms. She eagerly sat at the front of the class, a big smile on her face. She made it certain to ignore the Slytherins and focus on the small teacher in front of her. This would be interesting she was sure. She would definitely get good marks here and plenty of points for Gryffindor. She only hoped that the teacher would ask some questions that she could answer. Which after doubly studying the subject she was sure would be many of them.

Professor Flitwick watched the students file into his classroom. They were all new students to him, though he did know a few by their parents. Some, however, were quite new to him. "Hello, everyone. Welcome to Charms class. I'm Professor Flitwick and I will be teaching you Charms throughout the next few years. I know that some of you are not accustomed to magic, so I will do my best to explain to all of you what will happen in this classroom." Filius knew that some students would scoff at his introductory lesson, but that was their loss. "Some of you may think you know all about magic, but I might just surprise you," he squeaked. Sometimes his voice got very squeaky when he got excited, and now he was excited about meeting the next batch of Hogwarts students. "Now, in this class, we will learn charms that will be very useful in your life. In Defense Against the Dark Arts, you will learn spells more oriented towards defending yourself against magic, but here you will learn a variety of spells that will help you in your life. Does any one have any questions about what we will be doing this year?" he asked the class, looking around at each of them. He hoped that there would be be too many questions so that they could get on to their first spell on the first day. Sometimes classes would get deep in discussion about charms, but he hoped that this time, they could get working on their first spell.

Aha, a question! Hermione was more than enthused to answer one eagerly. She raised her hand and quickly asked. "Yes, Professor, please tell us what kind of charms are we going to be learning? Can you give us any examples? I can't wait to learn what you can teach us. I hope we can get started right away." She said, beaming, not caring if she seemed a little too over eager especially compared to the other students who seemed to be dozing off already.
